Lushashenko, supreme bullshitter

Alexander Lushashenko invented a bogus bomb threat to a Ryan Air flight as a pretext to divert the aircraft to Minsk.  This was apparently all so that he could arrest a dissident, Roman Protasevich, who may now face the death sentence for having differing political views to Lushashenko.

So a head of state has lied and used fighter jets to effectively hijack a civilian flight so that he can imprison (and likely execute) an opposition activist.  I had to read the story twice before it sunk in.

Hope the rest of the world throws the sanctions book at Belarus.  It probably still won't save poor old Mr Protasevich.

The problem is that Lushashenko is backed up to the hilt by none other than Vlad "The Mad" Putin .. out of interest Belarus is the only European country that is not a member of the Council of Europe.

Indeed, and that is enough security to provide safe delivery of the "goods".

What are the chances that the Ryanair O'Leary cunt will whack a flight surcharge on the passengers for the Belarus sightseeing option

MIG escort or not, the pikey cunts probably insisted on landing at Minsk Municipal, 70 miles outside of the capital.

Update :  Switzerland have refused to play ball and are maintaining that they haven't sent any messages about bomb threats.  Even Hamas are piping up to say that didn't put a bomb on the flight.  I guess Lushashenko will continue to follow the old Soviet playbook rules, and the claims /denials will become more outlandish.

Showcase example of dysfunctional Communist dictatorship.  Shocking that these things still go on in the 21st century.

At one point around about one third of the population of Belarus were jews. For much of the country's history jews controlled it trade with the outside world and for a brief period judaism was the official religion I think that many of the ancestors of these jews were actually local converts to judaism rather than ethnic jews from Palestine it might be this factor as to why Hamas has piped up.

Ryanair is an Irish airline, so this falls within the remit of the EU

I have it on good authority that they has set up a war room (built by non-cisgender plasterers, of course) to deal with this matter. Already the orders have been given for croissants and coffee, restaurants booked for lunch and funds allocated for emergency procurement of broomsticks.

As soon as the issue re coffee with or without cream has been settled, expect a strongly-worded letter of complaint......possibly even to Lukashenko

To be honest I think Mr L may have shot himself in the foot.  This is the type of incident which can lead to a tipping point.

I'm not suggesting the locals will be up in arms and calling for revolution, but I can certainly see the younger generation voting with their feet and just getting the fuck out of dodge to greener pastures Westward.

If the EU have any sense they will encourage this (subtly), and prepare for a wave of migration, even work with Latvia and co. to provide financial support, prepare all the legwork for work permits and so on, if the Belarusians jump over the border and settle in the neighbouring states.

That would be a civilised "fuck you" to Mr L and the old guard, just facilitate an easy escape route for people and let the youth and smarts be syphoned off into Europe.

Indeed. The money power are trying to turn the screw. The colour revolution failed, now they try bribery. These bastards seek the complete obliteration of traditional identities of countries and replace it with this sick globo homo shite.

Roman Protasevich does seem to have some shady far right friends. Another issue is that some of these countries are still tring to find their feet again having been simply of the USSR aka Russia for 50 years or more. Also Lushashenko might actually be popular with the majority of Belurusians, the people of some countries do like strong leaders, that was probably the case in Saddam's Iraq and Kaddafi's Libya and from the point of view of the rest of the world it might be better to leave these leaders in place to benefit from the stability that they create. The reality of the Syrian situation is that the problems were mostly caused by terrorists who were initially sponsored by the west.
