Guest Manky
My phone sulks if you mention updates within 10 yards of it. It is Version 1 with no bells and whistles and it has worked like a dream for 80p per week. Fuck off you phallically challenged spackers who need an iPhone to prove your masculinity. camberwell gypsy
You got George Formby, the founder of Windows to thank for this. The ukulele playing goofy Northerner wrote a song about upgrading and cleaning "If you can see what I can see, when I'm cleaning windows". I'll get me clogs on

Roadkill
The odd thing about Windows phones is that they run things such as porn and youtube and youtube porn and porn on youtube (it does exist, you just need to know where to look) far better than any laptop or desktop can manage on their crappy operating system these days. Linux costs you about £3 for a disk off Ebay (if you're too dumb to install it yourself for free) and gives you infinite updates that you can activate at your own leisure without having to stop what you're doing. The last Windows OS I used for an actual computer was XP.

Well it was the middle of the Second World War and luxuries like soap and warm water were in limited supply so that goes without saying. Also it was pre-90's so they would have all looked and smelled like Bin Laden's beard down there, too...

Only film stars and 'ores looked remotely sexy back then so you have to feel a bit sorry for the poor GI's having to shag grim and dowdy looking frumps that stank to the high heavens of yeasty cunts and gravy browner. Why do you think all the Tommy's went off to war in the first place? Facing down a German MG-42 at least meant you got to spend some time with the lads without your dinner-lady looking wife heaving the multiple folds of her face into a hateful frown every time you dared to say a swear word. The problem is most schools still use Windows to teach kids computing. Some use Macs, but that's just another blindly followed and overpriced niche in my opinion. The first time I used Linux I was amazed at how much you got with it for a free program and how badly optimized and unnecessarily overpriced the main operating systems are. Half of the PC's in my house today barely top 2GB of RAM and still use IDE drives. Yet they tend to be faster on the net than modern machines running the latest version of Windows. The only reason my gaming PC has Windows is because of the limitations Steam has on Linux. Whenever I'm browsing or watching stuff I usually just grab my old DELL D505. Rick_B
I also haven't used Windows at home since XP. In the last few years I've been using Linux Mint, before that Suse, Centos and Mandrake. Distros like Mint are easy to use, although it still helps if you know a bit about what's going on "under the bonnet". Earlier ones were hard work at times, I never did get sound to work properly on Mandrake 9.
