The Commonwealth Games open in Glasgow next month, perhaps the most inappropriate juxtaposition since that same city was designated the 1990 European City Of Culture. According to a program broadcast today, one in four Glaswegian men won't reach their 65th birthday, obesity rates are among the highest in the world, and nearly one in five potential workers is on incapacity benefit.
